Job Summary
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
Primary Duties
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production andperformsscheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform basic Carpentry, Welding & Electrical tasks.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test andmake adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform office maintenance tasks as needed (repair desk drawers, relocatecubicles, replace lightbulbs, etc.)
- Responsible for janitorial work, miscellaneous cleaning inside & outside facility and snow removal as needed.
- Operate motorized industrial equipment such as scissor lift and motorized maintenance carts.
- Participate in department meetings and projects
- Operate within standard operating procedures
- Maintain neat, clean and well-organized work area
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divideinall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must successfully complete the motorized industrial equipment test and obtainlicense.
- Physical Requirement:Capability to lift and/or move 50pounds.
- Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling,stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
Must meet at least 2 of the following requirements:
- High school diploma/GED and completion of Crown Certification (troubleshoot, repair, PM)
- Certified in Welding "or" 3 years'experience in welding, cutting and metal fabrication
- Certified Electrician "or" 5 years electrical experience or technical/vocational training demonstrating workable knowledge in all aspects of 220,480 volt3 phase wiring.
- Must pass Skills Assessment tests for basic welding, electrical and/or mechanics
