The Recording office would be a great place to showcase your strong customer service skills - in person, over the phone, and via email - as your primary role will be to act on behalf of the County Clerk to record real estate documents like deeds, mortgages, and liens. You'll also issue marriage licenses and domestic partnerships to couples of all genders.

Recording documents and processing marriage licenses involves working with a database and other software, so you'll need to have solid computer skills and be able to perform detailed work with accuracy. You'll review documents presented for recording in person, through the mail, or electronically, and then enter data from those documents into our database. You'll use hardware like scanners to digitize paper documents and microfilm readers to research old records. You'll also process payments, balance a cash drawer, and prepare daily deposits.

After successfully passing the probationary period you will have the option of a hybrid remote/in office work schedule.

The Recording team consists of:

  • 1 Supervisor

  • 1 Senior Administrative Specialist

  • 7 Administrative Specialist IIs

Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Capable multi-tasker, managing simultaneous tasks efficiently

  • You'll need to have the ability to concentrate on detailed work, periodically pause to help our customers, then pick up where you left off

  • Thorough attention to detail

  • Ability to enter data accurately into a database

  • Effective self-motivation and time management ability

  • A team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to accurately process payment transactions, balance a cash drawer, and prepare deposits
