Job Title: Registered Nurse Supervisor Duration: 01 Year to permanent Location: Beaufort, SC 29902 Shift: 5x8-Hour (08:00 AM - 05:00 PM) Job Description: Assists with overseeing the work of RNs, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and other medical staff. Directs a staff of Corrections Nurses, and support services in coordination with the physician, dentist, psychologist, and security staff to ensure that inmates are provided appropriate medical care. Serves as the Health Authority for the site. Provides skilled nursing care to inmates. Assesses inmates' health problems and needs, prepares and administers prescribed medications, initiates emergency interventions, first aid measures, and assists physician. Develops and implements medical/nursing guidelines and maintains medical records. Provides training as necessary to staff and education to inmates about healthy lifestyles. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department. Assumes responsibility for directing the nursing department, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring 24/7 nursing coverage. Recruits, orients, supervises, and evaluates performance of nursing and clerical personnel, including LPNs and CMAs. Develops, revises, and ensures compliance with medical policies, procedures, and safety guidelines for the correctional facility. Conducts chart audits for quality assurance, monitors inpatient hospitalizations, and coordinates with jail administration. Responds to medical emergencies, triages inmates, and maintains control of medications. Acts as a liaison between the medical staff, correctional officers, and the corporate office. Requirements: Previous correctional nursing or supervisory experience is heavily preferred. Registered Nurse License BLS/CPR Certificate
