SUMMARY:

Leads tank welders on Path Robotics projects as well as welds metal components together using a variety of arc welding processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)


  • Oversees and leads welders within the Path Robotic welding group.
  • Communicates with Weld Supervisor and Weld Manager. Reports information on employee progress and issues for ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Prepares workload for the welders.
  • Uses GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to weld weldments, tanks, and metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet
  • Reads and understands American and European blueprints, geometrical call outs, and weld symbols
  • Evaluates all processes within area of responsibility for ways to improve in quality, tooling usage, and run times. .
  • Welds complicated weldments where alignments, dimensional, and weld quality must conform.
  • Uses weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs when applicable.
  • Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Assists with creating work instructions
  • Completes first piece, in process, and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures
  • Pressure tests fuel tanks
  • Cleans and organizes work area


QUALIFICATIONS:

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees and leads welders in the Power Products division. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Reports any problems and issues that arise to the Weld Supervisor and/or Fabrication Manager.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

One-year Technical Diploma; three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
