Job Title: Fitter/Welder, 2nd Shift Job Overview The Fitter Welder performs independent fit-up and welding of metal components and assemblies to drawings and work instructions. This role is accountable for safety, consistent quality, efficient throughput, and effective collaboration with the fabrication team. Key Responsibilities Independently fit and weld components and assemblies according to blueprints and drawings. Perform MIG and Flux-Core welding with consistent quality, strength, and appearance. Accurately read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, tolerances, and measurements. Perform layout, fit-up, welding, and finishing with minimal supervision. Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Identify fabrication issues and communicate concerns to supervisors or engineers. Maintain production schedules by completing assigned work on time. Proactively identify unsafe conditions and follow all safety procedures. Support team productivity by collaborating with welders, fitters, and engineers. Minimum Education High School Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 Specific Qualifications Required Qualifications 2-4 years of experience as a Fitter Welder (preferred). Proficiency in MIG and Flux-Core welding on carbon steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and tolerances. Strong measuring, layout, and fit-up skills; grinder and hand-tool proficiency. Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices. Must be able to pass an on-site pressure-tested weld test. Preferred Skills Experience in enclosure, structural, or heavy fabrication environments. Familiarity with welding symbols and tolerances. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
