Exciting opportunity at MSK!: Join the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Rudensky Research Technician. The Rudensky Lab studies the molecular mechanisms governing the differentiation and function lymphocytes and their role in immunity and tolerance. We are targeting dedicated, self-driven candidates with a strong motivation for progress in the development of novel cancer immunotherapies to work in an interactive, team-oriented lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cancer research, enjoy working with others, and have an innate desire for continuous learning.

Role Overview:

  • General mouse husbandry work, including genotyping, sperm and embryo preservation, mouse rederivation, as well as tissue sectioning and transcardial perfusion
  • Manage complex mouse colony including maintain census, purchasing, interacting with collaborators
  • Support and assist lab personnel with experiments using immunological and molecular biology techniques including imaging, flow cytometry, library preps, PCR and analyze data of research
  • Participate in laboratory meetings and read literature applicable to the research area
  • Help with lab organization and other support duties relating to lab operations, as required

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related area
  • 1-4 years of hands-on experience in a research laboratory
  • Experience working with animal models a plus
  • Prior experience with human tissue handling preferred but not necessary

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Able to learn complex tasks with general instruction, and to use experience to perform a variety of new techniques
  • Actively seeks opportunities to increase skills and expertise
  • 2-3 year commitment (3 year preferred)

Additional Information:

  • Location: NYC; Zuckerman Research Center
  • Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday, typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $26.77 - $40.05 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
