The Issaka Lab in the Public Health Sciences Division seeks a Statistical Research Associate (SRA) II to join a collaborative, mission-driven research and quality improvement team focused on improving colorectal cancer screening and reducing disparities in cancer prevention and care. This is a full-time in-person position embedded within a cohesive and growing program.

The successful candidate will contribute to multiple phases of research, including study design, analysis, interpretation of findings, and dissemination. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative health services and implementation science research with direct impact on patient outcomes. Additionally, the candidate will provide oversight and management to a system-wide colorectal cancer database used for quality improvement initiatives. This position will operate with a degree of independence while engaging with a senior statistician for mentorship and guidance on complex analyses.



Responsibilities

    Contribute to the design, management, and analysis of electronic health record (EHR) and programmatic data systems
  • Conduct statistical analyses for observational and interventional studies using standard software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata)
  • Collaborate with investigators to develop and implement analytic plans
  • Evaluate analytic approaches and suggest additional or alternative analyses
  • Support data quality assurance and ongoing data management activities
  • Prepare tables, figures, and summaries for reports, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Contribute to manuscript writing and grant development
  • Provide statistical input as part of a multidisciplinary research team, with guidance from senior statisticians as needed
  • Perform other related duties as needed


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Background in statistical computing.
  • Proficiency with the statistical packages used within the department/ project.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience contributing to the design or analysis of randomized controlled trials.
  • Familiarity with factorial trial designs and optimization frameworks (e.g., MOST).
  • Experience with advanced statistical analyses (e.g., causal inference).
  • Background in health services, implementation science, or cancer prevention research.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large healthcare datasets, particularly EHR data.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $84,490 to $126,714, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
