Operations Digital Transformation Team Intern

The Opportunity

TC Energy is looking to add an energetic student intern in Spokane, WA to support our digital transformation objectives.

We are seeking students enrolled in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Data Sciences or other related programs to support our Operations Digital Transformation Team. This team's primary goal is to develop a digital transformation strategy aimed at changing the software interaction paradigm and improving how our employees receive data and interact with software systems. The goal is to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and reduce administrative burden so our employees can focus their time on skilled tasks.

As an Intern, you will partner with our full-time Digital Transformation team to refine the vision for operations digital transformation in a rapidly evolving Agent AI space. Assist in the development of AI Agents, refinement of said agents, agent training development, and other tasks required to support the team's goals.

What you'll do

  • Identify and assess internal processes and procedures that are ideal candidates for agentic AI solutions.

  • Work with a variety of internal stakeholders to socialize the purpose and vision of these initiatives.

  • Work to identify issues or roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Develop simple in-house AI tools.

  • Work with third party developers and internal stakeholders to develop AI agents.

  • Support data architecture refinement efforts.

  • Work to develop and deliver AI presentations to a multitude of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Report findings and recommended improvement opportunities through business cases and leadership presentations.

  • Develop and provide oversight of implementation and change management plans.

  • Ensure inclusive engagement of impacted stakeholders.

  • Assess post implementation effectiveness, sustainability, and value achievement.

  • Maintain ethical, equitable and quality standards to achieve safe operational performance.

  • Other ad hoc requests as needed.

Term lengths vary by 4-, 8-, 12-, 16-month opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an Computer Sciences, Engineering, Data Sciences or other related undergraduate degree program with at least one semester of education completed.

  • Enrollment at an accredited University/Polytechnic and returning to school for at least one semester following your work term.

  • Experience with agentic AI systems and AI development.

  • Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.

  • Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
