About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing (Machine Operator, Subway Packing) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 2, you will operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure a consistent flow of finished goods, accurate labeling, and compliance with food safety, quality, and production standards.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 2nd
• Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Weekend availability: Required

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Operate, set up, and monitor packaging equipment to maintain efficient and continuous production flow.
• Monitor product quality, labeling accuracy, and metal detection systems to ensure compliance with food safety and company standards.
• Support production schedules by preparing materials, communicating with team members, and minimizing downtime and waste.
• Perform equipment adjustments, changeovers, startups, and shutdowns to maintain operational efficiency.
• Complete all required production, quality, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Shipping to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following GMPs and safe operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math and timekeeping skills.
• Ability to make logical decisions in a fastpaced production environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 pounds and frequently carry items over 20 pounds.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and variable production schedules as required.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Familiarity with HACCP, metal detection systems, and food safety practices.
• Experience operating packaging, labeling, or palletizing equipment.
• Strong teamwork and crossfunctional communication skills.
