Overview

We are seeking an Information Security Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Team. The Information Security Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying Information Security controls to the specification of company policies and standards across the organization. This position will also monitor data in transit and at rest, following up on violations and researching areas of data vulnerability providing controls configuration recommendations. Benefits:
Responsibilities
- Develops and enforces security standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with the Information Security policy across the organization.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in Information Security controls, advising on projects involving restricted and confidential data throughout the company.
- Defines and maintains rules based on sensitivity labels to ensure proper data handling and security measures.
- Develops and manages sensitivity labels to ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors and optimizes the system performance through ongoing performance reporting, analysis, and tuning to maintain optimal security posture.
- Installs, configures, and maintains Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems across both internal and cloud environments to safeguard sensitive information.
- Designs, develops, and maintains DLP monitoring policies, ensuring robust protection of data across multiple platforms.
- Develops and fine-tunes DLP rule sets and controls to proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
- Evaluates and assesses emerging security technologies and potential risks, staying ahead of evolving threats and implementing new controls as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information science, or related field with 2+ years of experience in the information security field
- OR associate degree in computer science, management information science, or related field with 5+ years of experience in information security field
- OR high school equivalency with 8+ years of experience in information security field
- Must have the following experiences:
- Project management
- Team-oriented, collaborative
- Microsoft TCP/IP (Windows) Networking, and security technologies
- Security monitoring and reporting appliances; leading and analyzing security reporting
- Certifications in - GIAC Security Operations Certified (GSOC) and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), ability to obtain Microsoft Engineer certification within 1st year of position start date
- Operates as the technical expert in Microsoft Security environment
- In-depth expertise in Information Security controls, including, but not limited to cloud, server, and endpoint technologies and solutions
- Utilizes broad and unique knowledge to creatively develop new practices, processes, metrics, models, or applications
- Provides specialized, unique expertise within Microsoft and Azure technologies
- Knowledge of Network Access Control (NAC) and Network Intrusion Prevention Systems
- Moderate knowledge of operations analysis of security events within a Security Information & Event Management solution
- Proficient in a wide array of server grade applications including Exchange, DNS, SMTP, IIS, Active Directory, Identity Management, Patch Management, LDAP, SQL, and others
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and adaptable to change
- Inquisitive and seek answers to questions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
