$26.14 to $28.75 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work coordinating all of the Human Resources-related operations and programs and processing all of the personnel actions for the Utility Services Department, including recruiting, testing, background investigations, evaluations, and career development for new and existing personnel; Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), light duty assignment, and disability paperwork, documentation, and tracking; providing management support for labor negotiations and grievances; and coordinating and assisting in processing disciplinary actions, hearings, and dispositions. In addition, the work involves processing all Risk Management-related functions for the department, including entering all Property, Casualty, and Workers' Compensation claims in the Brevard County Claims Management System, following up with claimants and injured employees, and assisting with implementation and oversight of the Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.



REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of Human Resources management experience in a Utility Services environment, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to work irregular hours when necessary. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
