Summary of Duties:
The primary role of the Business Application Analyst (BAA) is to review and analyze business processes and workflows with the objective of finding, improving, and implementing business objectives.
The BAA may be involved in a large variety of IT projects across all business units. The BAA will assist business process owners working with business teams to find the best way to design new processes, solve process-related problems and implement improvements as they relate to Applications.
Salary range: $97,000-$120,000
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent and concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or requirements workshops.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to parlay complex information to the business units that rely on that information to define system requirements or organizational processes.
  • Collect and analyze the project's business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to company management.
  • Review and/or prepare system documentation and specifications in accordance with methodology.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user request from the underlying true needs.
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Facilitate requirements prioritization based on business value.
  • Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status through the project.
  • Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes and tools.
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules and methodologies
  • Perform data analysis using SQL and other tools as necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Accountability:
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with RK Enterprise Applications team coding standards for SQL and general architecture.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
  • RK employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Orientation.

  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within position function.
  • Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
  • Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function.
  • College/University graduate with 2 to 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
