Position Summary

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Service Specialist (B) is responsible for safely picking and fulfilling customer orders, packaging, and document preparation of shipments across all products following the documented procedures. Responsibilities include receiving inbound and outbound freight, checking in product, stock put away, operating manual or mechanical equipment to load and unload product and properly performing inventory transactions in the Company MSS system, utilizing other computer programs for outbound shipments, and checking accuracy.

  • Complies and prioritizes all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment as required. Also, actively contributes to the reporting of safety observations, and fosters a culture of safety awareness.
  • Must maintain valid certification of powered industrial trucks and participate in all training required for this position; including, company provided OSHA training and certification.
  • Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures related to the Warehouse position.
  • Order selection ("Picking") of outbound shipments (including small package, LTL and truckload shipments) following documented processes. Efficient packaging and palletizing of outbound shipments. Assist in verification of picked product against shipping documents to ensure accuracy and understand loading specifications to ensure they are being met.
  • Unloads incoming products and verifies accuracy of inbound product, matching packing lists to purchase orders. Safely store inventory in preferred locations. Utilize MSS to update inventory receiving transactions. Interacts with materials and quality departments to report any non-conformance or deficiency (count or damage).
  • Participates in the physical inventory process, including completing regular cycle counts as required and checks of Kanban inventories. Maintains and updates a Kanban reorder book to support operations and materials departments.
  • Picks and delivers materials to supply production in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Actively contributes to high-performance teams, fosters a lean culture, and engages in activities to drive impactful change. Participate in 5S and maintain a clean, safe work area.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work overtime hours as required by business needs.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Warehouse or distribution and/or forklift experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, pick lists, and short correspondence, and communicate with team members to share information, solve problems, and provide training.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and basic math skills; strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization; able to manage multiple tasks under pressure; proficient in Microsoft Office; customerfocused.
  • High mechanical aptitude with quick technical learning; reliable team contributor.
