SOLIDWORKS - "Authentic Design Experience" SOLIDWORKS is our set of 3D CAD design, simulation, data management, and collaboration tools The AI Software Engineer will develop AI Virtual Companions, functionalities powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) to assist users in CAD conception, design intent, capture, and workflow automation within SolidWorks, with a focus on assembly-related functionalities. The engineer will play a key role in defining, designing, implementing, and continuously improving intelligent software solutions that create measurable value for end-users. Qualifications & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering with 2-3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 0-2 years, or a closely related technical field 0-2 years of professional software development experience, with hands-on exposure to AI or ML systems Proficiency in Python; familiarity with C#, C++, or willingness to ramp quickly Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines, semantic search, and embedding-based retrieval Experience with containerized deployment using Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) Solid understanding of REST API design, async architectures, and integration patterns Strong software engineering fundamentals: state management, error handling, and modular design Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication and collaboration skills Self-directed and motivated - comfortable learning in fast-moving, emerging technology spaces Familiarity with vector databases (pgvector, Chroma DB, or similar) and hybrid search techniques Nice to have: Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as Lang Graph or Lang Chain Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tool-calling standards Familiarity with local LLM inference tools (Ollama or equivalent) and vision/multimodal models Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including serverless and managed container services Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling: Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar Background in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or similar) Exposure to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform or enterprise PLM systems Familiarity with Pydantic, Fast API, and modern Python typing patterns Familiarity with JavaScript and/or Typescript Prior work on deployed, production AI systems beyond academic or demo projects Shape your career with 3DS! #WeAre3DS Inclusion statement In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at 3DS are based on merit, qualifications and abilities. 3DS is committed to a policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or medical or common conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, familial status, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and above), disability, veteran status, military service, application for military service, genetic information, receipt of free medical care, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. 3DS will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities, in accordance with applicable law.
