Job Description:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years as DataOps systems analyst in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science projects.
  • SQL Expertise: A minimum of 7 years of work experience in SQL, with expertise in crafting complex SQL queries.
  • Datamart Design: A minimum of 3 years of experience designing DataMart's, with a focus on Dimensional Modeling.
  • Power BI: At least 2 years of experience in the design and development of Power BI dashboards.

Top Required Skills Core Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years as a Systems Analyst supporting Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science initiatives.
  • SQL Expertise: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries for analytical and reporting workloads.
  • DataMart Design: Minimum of 3 years designing Data Marts with strong expertise in Dimensional Modeling (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Power BI: At least 3 years of experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • New Data Platform implementation: Lead implementation of new data platforms and/or optimize existing data platforms.
Communication & Execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document systems, data flows, and processes.
  • Skilled at developing impactful presentations and communicating effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and implement solutions with minimal guidance while managing complex, multi-project assignments.
Additional DataOps & Modern Data Platform Requirements (NEW)
  • Proven ability to work closely with data platform engineering, data solution delivery, IT and business teams to evaluate, select, implement, and optimize modern data platforms.
  • Hands-on or strong functional experience supporting DataOps capabilities, but not limited to:
    • Data Engineering (ELT, ETL, real time streaming, virtualization)
    • Data Catalogs (metadata management, data discoverability, data lineage)
    • Data Observability and Data Quality monitoring
    • Data Platform optimization (performance, scalability, reliability, cost awareness)
  • Ability to translate business and operational requirements into data platform and process improvements.
  • Experience identifying and improving data engineering workflows, analytics lifecycle processes, and end-to-end data delivery using DataOps principles.
  • Strong understanding of how governance, observability, and automation enable trusted, production-grade analytics and AI solutions.
Soft Skills / Team Fit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and influence across cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable mentoring others and acting as a senior advisor on complex data and analytics initiatives.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Power Apps experience.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms, cloud data warehouses, or data engineering ecosystems is a plus.

This role exists to bridge business needs and technical execution, ensuring data platforms, DataOps capabilities, and analytics solutions are designed, optimized, and operationalized in a way that improves data reliability, accelerates insight delivery, and maximizes the value of enterprise data investments.

High-Level Project Responsibilities
  • The Senior Systems Analyst will:
    • Assist in the planning, design, and development of new data platforms, as well as enhancements to existing platforms.
    • Partner with business stakeholders, system owners, and end users to define business requirements, system objectives, and success criteria.
    • Operate independently on highly complex initiatives, providing senior-level analysis across all phases of the system lifecycle.
    • Work with technical teams to define system scope, architecture considerations, and data platform needs based on business outcomes.
    • Drive process optimization and standardization across analytics and data delivery workflows.
    • Collaborate across multiple business units and platforms on concurrent projects.
    • Guide and mentor less experienced Systems Analysts.
Job Duties
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and documentation to guide technical implementation.
  • Coordinate and execute thorough testing, including end-user validation for new and enhanced systems.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Provide training and orientation.
  • Create and deliver clear, effective presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Document standards, procedures, and best practices across analytic and data platforms.
  • Develop test cases, validate results, and ensure production readiness.
  • Coach and transfer knowledge to team members with less experience.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and executing work assignments.
Preferred Years of Experience:
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years as systems analyst in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science projects.
  • SQL Expertise: A minimum of 7 years of work experience in SQL, with expertise in crafting complex SQL queries.
  • Datamart Design: A minimum of 5 years of experience designing DataMart's, with a focus on Dimensional Modeling.
Education:

Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency
