What will I do as an Assistant Store Manager at The GIANT Company?
- Maximize sales through superior store conditions, competitive awareness, sales and merchandising programs, and effective ordering and monitoring of direct store deliveries.
- Control department labor costs by ensuring effective scheduling and maintaining performance standards.
- Manage shrink and gross profit by ensuring proper product handling, receiving, pricing integrity, and ordering.
- Maintain clean, orderly, appealing, and hazard-free work areas, adhering to merchandising policies and procedures.
- Ensure total store compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws as required by Federal, State, or Municipal regulations.
- Cultivate and maintain superior customer relations through polite and efficient handling of inquiries and complaints, and by upholding service level standards.
- Foster harmonious associate relations by actively listening to concerns and overseeing associate selection, orientation, training, performance appraisals, and recognition programs.
- Perform total store management responsibilities as required, ensuring operational excellence.
- Manage, implement, and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Respond to customer connection reports and ensure timely resolutions to all service issues.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and well-organized image throughout the store.
- Control the loss of store money through proper handling of refunds and deposits, while training applicable service and office personnel.
- Oversee the store payroll process to ensure accuracy and compliance, troubleshooting any payroll issues.
- Ensure efficient use of supplies through proper bagging techniques, cart control, and laundry management.
- Serve as a custodian of store records, including cash, grocery receiving, payroll, and personnel documentation.
- Supervise fuel stations and ensure operational efficiency.
- Review work schedules, check equipment and supplies, and comply with PPE requirements.
- Enter orders, schedule work, supervise, and train associates in receiving, storing, and stocking items.
- Unload trucks using a pallet jack, break down pallets, and stock the store while verifying store presentation.
