About the role:

As a Supplier Performance Engineering Intern, you will support cost analysis efforts by breaking down products or services into their underlying material, labor, overhead, and process cost drivers. You will gather data, building or updating cost models, and comparing "should cost" estimates against supplier quotes or actual purchase prices. You will work with supply chain, engineering, and sourcing teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve cost transparency.

You will report to the Should Costing Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and update shouldcost models by breaking down products or services into materials, labor, overhead, and process costs
  • Collect and validate cost data from engineering drawings, bills of materials, market benchmarks, and internal systems
  • Support sourcing and negotiation efforts by preparing cost analyses, summaries, and visuals for buyers and category managers
  • Improve cost assumptions and methodologies by learning manufacturing processes and industry cost drivers



Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain management or operations management
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Basic cost modeling and data analysis skills, with the ability to break down material, labor, and process costs
  • Familiarity with manufacturing concepts and reading BOMs or engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle), CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and Costing & Benchmarking tools (e.g. apriori, BDI DFMA,)
  • Interest in learning shouldcosting, supplier cost analysis, and manufacturing cost drivers
  • No relocation assistance provided



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $18.70 to $27.50 per hour.
