2+ years experience generating & interpreting 14C and staple isotope
data from both modern & ancient samples.
Experience training others on
IRMS instrumentation (eg., dual inlet
IRMS). |
| Position Summary |
The incumbent is responsible for complex sample preparation and analysis, including elemental analysis and continuous flow isotope ratio instrumentation (TC/EA -
IRMS, EA-
IRMS and dual inlet
IRMS) for carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen in conjunction with dating and natural product laboratories, and coordination of samples within
CAIS for processing on EA/
IRMS.
The incumbent assists in the training of personnel and students in instrument operation, troubleshooting problems when they arise, and works with the Lab PI and Lab Supervisor to resolve problems. |

Skilled in the preparation and analysis of samples in an analytical chemistry laboratory, specifically for elemental and/or isotopic content. Chemistry laboratory experience, preferred
ISO accreditation experience. |

- Adjust lab procedures for assigned projects in conjunction with Lab PI and/or Lab Supervisor.
- Assist with development of new analytical procedures.
