Summary
Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines. Completes waste stream removal. Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around Medical Center departments and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. Operates assigned equipment (e.g., floor machines, buffers). Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually. Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Related experience 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely. - Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers. The scheduled hours for this position are 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend and every other holiday required. Scheduled days off fall on Thursday before the worked weekend and Tuesday after the worked weekend.
