JOB SUMMARY This Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) is a laboratory-based research position focusing on animal models of acute lung injury. The goal is to discover more about the mechanisms through which lung injury develops with a focus on the innate immune response including neutrophils and platelets. Experiments include intravenous and intratracheal injections of biological agents, genotyping of mouse DNA, ELISAs, immunohistochemistry, cleared organ imaging, and flow cytometry. The SRA I will work under direct supervision and with training provided. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Identify the functions or tasks that employees in the job perform. Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree with a major in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in cellular and molecular biology
- Experience with mouse experiments including mouse handling and mouse surgery
- Experience with mouse husbandry and genotyping techniques
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent organizational, time management, administrative, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking
