Department Summary: The Department of Pediatrics located in Waltham is a multispecialty unit with 22 different specialties. Some of these specialties are Allergy, Dermatology, Pulmonary and Endocrine.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties, including Point of Care Testing, according to specific needs of clinic).
  • Assisting with procedures, stocking rooms, ordering clinical supplies.
  • Collecting, verifying and recording patient information according to established procedures and instructions.
  • Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
  • Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  • HS Diploma or GED.
Experience
  • 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation preferred. Would consider pre-PA or pre -med candidates with no direct care experience.
  • The ability to work on a team.
  • The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.
  • Good communication skills.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
