Description and Requirements

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team in Morrisville, NC. This is an onsite position and will require in-office attendance.

Position is for a college student studying mechanical engineer to design server products. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will work on product design from concept stage to market availability and field sustainability. Creativity and attention to detail is essential for success. Faster, smaller, and more energy efficient are constants in the world of server design. This along with evolving technologies make mechanical development of servers always challenging. Our Lenovo servers are used to solve some of humanity's greatest challenges and you will be part of the team that makes that possible.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with an experienced engineer to create parts for a Lenovo server
  • Designing structural sheet metal enclosures supporting electronic circuit boards, and creating plastic part designs to support adapter cards
  • Document designs in 2D drawings, and 3D solid models

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to work onsite at our Morrisville, NC location
  • Three-dimensional computer design skills
  • Completed MET AAS courses including CAD I, II, III, Mechanisms, and Intro in Solid Modeling
  • Ability to learn PTC Creo CAD tool and PTC Windchill for CAD data file management
