Location: 100% Onsite - Fairport, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on project needs; advance notice will be provided.

Job Description:
  • Class IV Laser.
  • Optical subassemblies.
  • Motion control systems..
  • Alignment tools and fixturing.
  • Interview Process: Two rounds - phone screen followed by onsite panel interview.
  • ITAR Compliant Required - Candidates must be compliant with ITAR requirements and be US citizens or nationals.
  • This position focuses on precision optical testing and alignment. The candidate will support the assembly, integration, testing, and qualification of an optical metrology system, as well as the testing and optimization of precision optical systems.
Education:
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Degree in Optics or a related field preferred but not required.
Required Experience:
  • 4+ years in optics (with Associate's Degree), or
  • 2+ years in optics (with Bachelor's Degree)
  • Background in optical alignment, test setup, and data processing.
Required Skills:
  • Solid understanding of geometrical optics.
  • Experience analyzing data using standard tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python).
  • Ability to learn technical procedures quickly and contribute to workflow improvements.
  • Comfortable working in a research environment with evolving requirements and open-ended problem solving.
  • Self-directed; able to work effectively with limited on-site supervision.
  • Demonstrated safe-handling practices for sensitive optical components.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
