Could you be the full-time onsite System Engineer in Hornell, NY, US we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll contribute to designing, integrating, and verifying advanced train systems, ensuring technical consistency and performance across subsystems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Certification & Validation, Engineering Metiers, Participating Units), support technical relationships with suppliers, and drive the resolution of technical issues during the design and testing phases, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Performing technical requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform, and Customer, then allocating the developed requirements to the various subsystems. ,



  • Defining the Train System architecture, operational capabilities, and performance. ,



  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems. ,



  • Writing sub-system specifications (RSL2, TPS) and, if needed, sub-system architecture descriptions (ADL2) according to train-level system architecture. ,



  • Driving technical relationships with suppliers with close management of QCD commitments (CbC), risks & validation (including Design Reviews with suppliers). ,



  • Supporting the Train Performance Manager (TPM) to define applicable train configurations. ,You'll specifically take care of technical requirement development, system architecture design, and subsystem integration, but also train verification, validation, and revenue service support.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or other relevant fields). ,



  • Experience or understanding of design and integration processes, preferably in rail, but experience in aerospace, automotive, bus, or other transportation industries will also be considered. ,



  • Knowledge of system architecture design, technical requirement development, and subsystem compatibility. ,



  • Familiarity with verification and validation (V&V) activities, including testing, modeling, and simulation. ,



  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement. ,



  • Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and adapt to challenges with resilience. ,



  • Proficiency in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. ,



  • Understanding of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) principles and ability to manage risks effectively. ,



  • A mindset for continuous learning and providing Return on Experience (RoE) for process improvement. ,



  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.


  • Salary Range- 78-108K
