Job Summary

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that address business and mission-critical needs. This role applies technical expertise to create efficient, scalable, and reliable applications while adhering to established development standards, processes, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software applications and systems
• Translate business and mission requirements into logical and mathematical solutions using appropriate programming languages
• Apply established standards, processes, procedures, and tools across the software development lifecycle
• Analyze system capabilities to determine program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques
• Collaborate with stakeholders and system users to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet operational needs
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including program specifications and operating instructions
• Ensure compliance with software quality standards and best practices
• Continuously evaluate and improve software performance, scalability, and reliability

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of software development principles, methodologies, and lifecycle processes
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, or similar)
• Understanding of computer hardware, software systems, and data processing techniques
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Work Experience

• Prior experience in software development or engineering preferred
