Retail sales talent (our Territory Sales Associate, Territory Sales Leader, Associate Regional Sales Leader, Regional Sales Leader) is core to creating the critical access to our best loved brands in retail locations for shoppers and consumers to enjoy. We are looking to fill our Retail Learning Manager role with an experienced, driven, commercially-minded, clutch collaborator with an insatiable need to build skills that lead to crushed goals. Retail at The Hershey Company includes building business and execution strategies for retailers across various classes of trace such as Walmart, Target, Grocers like Kroger and Safeway, Convenience (C-Store) franchises such as 7-11 and Wawa, Drug stores including CVS and Walgreens, independent retailers/grocers. These strategies span the confection (candy, mint, and gum), snack, and protein bar categories. In this role, you will work with key senior business leaders in the Retail organization, HR Business Partner leaders, and other key stakeholders to identify skill and capability building along with providing strategic retail excellence and consulting. You will be responsible for defining, leading, executing, and maintaining the needs assessment, engaging design, development, implementation, and measurement of learning solutions to meet the global needs of the Retail organization. The successful applicant will need a strong background in developing memorable and sticky learning solutions for a retail and/or sales organization, performance consulting skills, instructional design skills, astute business acumen, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management skills. Role Responsibilities: End-to-end ownership of Retail Team learning programs. * Execute needs analysis using interviews, focus groups, surveys etc., to assess current and future skills needs for the global audience that achieve business goals. * Research and apply external best practices and innovation within learning and development, and adult learning theory. * Drive thought leadership on best methods to develop retail capabilities. * Design innovative and transformative learning programs and experiences that drive business results. * Create learning content individually or collaborate with subject matter experts to create content that is applicable, practical, and drives measurable outcomes. * Deliver virtual, face-to-face, and/or asynchronous learning content. * Leverage / integrate technology to enhance the effectiveness of learning offerings for the learner. * Lead the development, execution, and measurement of capability-building programs. * Develop and execute evaluation strategies and assessments for programs, using the data to continuously improve programming and/or identify incremental learning needs. * Development of retail programs, application trainings, implementation from our Retail Development partners. Partner with HR Business Partners & HR Talent Leaders and Key Stakeholders in Sales & Category Management to drive Performance Consulting and learning agendas. * Provide thought leadership on individualized performance and learning plans for Retail talent across all levels. * Collaborate and support learning and development for Early In Career Development, New Retail Employee programming, other learning and performance needs as assigned. * Key contributor to building curriculum that drives Commercial Operator skills including individualized learning plans where needed. Key Member of Facilitation Team that drives Enterprise-wide Capability Building * Deliver virtual, face-to-face, asynchronous, and/or design expertise for learning content in the areas of: * New employee orientation * Career Development * Compliance (where applicable) * Facilitation of retail development programs * Other learning needs as assigned (example: Feedback & Coaching courses) Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development or in related area of study required (i.e., Instructional Systems Design, HR, I/O Psychology) and solid base of professional certifications and qualifications within L&D. Due to the unique nature of the role, proven and demonstrated retail experience is also required. Preferred: Masters in M.Ed., MS in Training and Curriculum Design, MBA or Equivalent * 5 - 7 years of Increased responsibility within learning & development or a retail sales organization * 5 years of experience working with Retail, Sales, Category Management and/or Commercial teams/organizations * Experience assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing interventions, and evaluating the effectiveness of Retail, Sales, Category Management, and/or Commercial learning programs. Design innovative and transformative learning programs and experiences. * Manage the development of programs. * Develop and execute evaluation strategies for programs. * Experience in managing vendor relationships. * Experience in budget management. * Deep knowledge of CMG retail execution and proven demonstrated skills that drive impact in this important category * Recognized ability to work effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization, including executive and senior leadership * Strong platform training and facilitation skills in virtual, face-to-face, and asynchronous modalities * Proven track record of executing multiple projects and programs on aggressive timelines; experience managing projects and programs * Highly effective in a collaborative, highly iterative project team, excellent management of energy and stamina in a fast-paced setting * Strong stand-and-deliver execution, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, and strategic thinking skills * Strong business and HR acumen, including problem solving skills, critical thinking, and willingness to provided candid constructive feedback on self and others * Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision in a dynamic and ambiguous environment * Commitment to modeling our Hershey Behaviors of Consumer First, Shape the Future, Play to Win, and Debate/Decide/Commit. * Expert at leading stakeholder engagement across multiple disciplines (customer sales, customer marketing, retail sales, commercial, marketing, etc.) and proven ability to influence without authority * Independent, self-led learner that is curious, investigative, and affable with teammates and internal stakeholders The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
