Clinical Technical Specialist-Blood Bank Washington Ave, Evansville IN 47714 5.5 months (Potential to extend depending on the business) Monday - Friday, Days Summary Responsible for overseeing the Transfusion Medicine processes within the hospital labs. Develop training and competency programs for Transfusion Medicine hospital based labs. Duties and Responsibilities * Drives and leads Transfusion Medicine projects * Works with Quality Assurance team to utilize quality tools and insure readiness for any regulatory inspections * Oversees the FDA Reportables and submissions * Drives Standardization across the system in Transfusion Medicine * Oversight of collaborative team incorporating thought leaders from and applicable hospitals * Develop transfusion medicine productivity standards, quality measures, and best practices * Evaluation of instrumentation, reagent systems to drive standardization * Works with BPT Leader to provide ROI, service requirements and implementation tools for recommended instrumentation * Creates and executes standard Blood Bank SOPS, tools and metrics * Serves on hospital subcommittees as needed Job Qualifications (Work Experience, Physical & Mental Requirements, Knowledge, Skills) Physical activities include frequent walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting and squatting. The ability to lift up to 30 lbs. in weight to a height of 5 feet and carrying moderately light loads for a distance of 50 feet. Color vision is required for accuracy in work. Atmosphere and environment associated with a clinical laboratory setting - toxic and/or hazardous chemicals/specimens with unpleasant odors People Leader Responsibility: n/a Work Environment: Atmosphere and environment associated with a clinical laboratory setting - toxic and/or hazardous chemicals/specimens with unpleasant odors Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology required ASCP Certification required Three to six (3 - 6) years of pertinent, full-time laboratory experience in a Core laboratory.
