Overview

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to provide civil engineering support and leadership in the planning, design, and technical execution of projects and tasks for the Institutional Services.

Responsibilities

    Provides technical expertise and guidance in the overall planning and execution of projects in assigned institutional areas, as well as planning, coordination and support of maintenance activities.
  1. Provides overall project management for an assigned project including developing detailed project plans and schedules with task lists, durations and assignment of resources.
  2. Performs daily coordination and generation of work instructions to technical staff via task orders or other approved means and reporting to contractor and customer management.
  3. Prepares documentation supporting facility development efforts, specifications, and purchase requisitions for facility hardware.
  4. Supports large-and-small scale institutional projects including data analysis, writing specifications, creating standards and final report generation.


Qualifications

  1. Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or equivalent and basic knowledge of drawing interpretation plus 5 years' experience in mechanical/civil engineering.
  2. Ability to utilize GPS and GDIS mapping systems. This includes underground utility drawings along with topographical mapping knowledge.
  3. Ability to work in MS Office applications, such as Word and Excel, and a computerized maintenance management system.
