Job Title: HVAC/Maintenance Test Technician (Commercial/Industrial Experience)
Location: East Syracuse, NY- 13057
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $28-32/hr. on w2 without benefits
Shift Timing: 1st shift

Note/Pre-screening Questions:
  • Do you have at least 2 years of hands-on HVAC or machine shop experience involving mechanical assembly, repair, or fabrication?
  • Do you have EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification?
  • Do you have experience in fabrication work such as building or modifying ductwork, test setups, or mechanical assemblies using hand and power tools?
  • Are you comfortable working in a lab/testing environment involving pressurized or combustible gases?.
  • Are you open to working on any shifts (1st/2nd/3rd)?.
  • Do you have experience with any of the following? (Select all that apply).
  • Electrical wiring.
  • Pressurized systems.
  • Brazing.
  • VRF, ductless, and HVAC testing.
  • LOTO procedures.
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Perform VRF, ductless, and HVAC testing per UL/ASHRAE/internal standards.
  • Fabricate and assemble test setups, ductwork, and fixtures.
  • Install sensors/thermocouples and set up psychrometric test rooms.
  • Build, modify, and decommission HVAC units for testing.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical modifications and troubleshooting.
  • Record and maintain test data in systems/databases.
  • Calibrate equipment and ensure test accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts/overhead cranes as needed.
  • Support lab improvements and process efficiency.
  • Tear down tested units and sort materials.
Skills Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2+ years HVAC or machine shop experience.
  • EPA 608 Universal certification.
  • HVAC/refrigeration cycle knowledge.
  • Basic electrical wiring (3-phase preferred).
  • Ability to read drawings and test procedures.
  • Experience with tools, pressurized systems, and brazing (preferred).
  • MS Office basics.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Flexible with shifting priorities and schedule.
