Wenger Corporation | Texas Scenic is seeking motivated Assemblers to help drive our success! In this role, you will provide an exceptional customer experience by performing routine materials inspection/handling, routine machine operations, assembly, basic quality control, and packing/shipping prep under limited supervision in a manner, which meets or exceeds the established quality and quantity standards for the area.
We are seeking an Assembler to join our manufacturing team in San Antonio, Texas!
Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assembly & Manufacturing Operations
- Assemble small components requiring fine manipulation, precision, and attention to detail.
- Perform assigned manufacturing processes in accordance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Set up and operate punch presses, drill presses, and other stationary or portable power equipment as needed.
- Review work assignments, documentation, and instructions to plan work effectively and organize materials for the shift.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Inspect completed work to verify conformance with specifications, identifying defects and submitting Defective Material Reports (DMRs) when required.
- Meet or exceed established quality and quantity standards, helping to minimize downtime, scrap, and rework.
- Communicate observations, process issues, and improvement recommendations to the Manager or Department Lead.
Safety, Organization & Compliance
- Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all shop safety rules and safe operating procedures when using tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to reduce safety risks and support efficient operations.
Teamwork, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to a cooperative and productive work environment by completing assigned duties accurately and on time.
- Assist in organizing tools, materials, and workflows to support consistent manufacturing performance.
- Provide guidance and general assistance to trainees in a supportive manner that contributes to their development.
- Participate in continuous improvement by sharing observations and suggestions to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to use tape measure, dial caliper, and other measuring tools as required.
- Proficient in basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
It would be great if you also have:
- 6-months manufacturing experience
- Experience training others
- Experience understanding engineering drawings
- Experience performing mechanical assembly
- Experience performing electrical assembly
- Experience operating machinery
