Overview

As the premiere shipbuilder of nuclear-powered submarines for the United States Navy, Electric Boat Corporation has been tasked to support the United Kingdom's design of a new submarine for the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. Join our growing International Programs Office and play a pivotal role in the AUSTRALIA - UNITED KINGDOM - UNITED STATES (AUKUS) Program here at Electric Boat. This isn't a typical desk job - it is a chance build the future of global defense, working on high stakes projects with international partners. You will be supporting the United Kingdom's design development of the common Australia-UK submarine. You will aid the UK shipbuilding industry, via the United States Navy, with technical, logistical, and programmatic support in designing the new submarine - SSN-AUKUS.

You will be responsible for executing tasking from our customer: coordinate the development of technical information packages for transmission to the UK; chair periodic meetings with the US and Royal Navies, and other UK customers; oversee briefings to all concerned parties; develop post-event summaries with action items; and direct completion of assigned items. You will coordinate foreign and domestic travel for Electric Boat Subject Matter Experts; prepare for visits by foreign nationals to Electric Boat and our vendors; and develop program status reports, staffing plans, and budgets. You must ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and training.

You will be expected to have frequent interface with US and foreign customers and comply with federally mandated import/export regulations. There will also be frequent interface and coordination with EB functional groups (Legal, Security, Contracts, and Finance).

The selected candidate is a self-starter, bringing new and innovative ideas to the AUKUS Program. This position is a tremendous opportunity to learn about all functional areas of the company, while also contributing to a key enterprise need. You will be the central hub, providing crucial support for all aspects of our AUKUS program. In the Program Office you will gain a 360-degree view of how we operate learning from the best in Design and Engineering, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Legal, Construction and Facilities. You will move between tactical execution and strategic planning, defining the overarching vision for our programs beyond the ARTEMIS milestones. This is an opportunity to define the process and not just be a part of it.

This position will be based out of Groton, CT. Occasional foreign and domestic travel may be requested but not required.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the AUKUS Program team you will:

    Be an ambassador that frequently interfaces with US and foreign customers, building strong, credible relationships that are essential to our success.
  • Coordinate high-priority technical information packages for the UK and chair critical meetings between the US Navy, Royal Navy, and international stakeholders.
  • Direct the completion of program milestones and brief senior leadership and international partners on program status, staffing, and budgets.
  • Lead the coordination of domestic and international travel for EB Subject Matter Experts and manage high-level visits from foreign nationals to our facilities and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to import/export regulations (ITAR) and program-specific policies, safeguarding the integrity of our international partnerships.
  • Work closely with Engineering, EB Legal, Security, Contracts, and Finance teams to drive resolution of any facilities, IT, security and/or compliance issues to enable efficient USIS execution.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Technical Degree (B.S. in Applied Mathematics, IT, Physics, etc.)
  • 5+ years of Project Management / Program Office experience

Preferred:

  • 5+ years at Electric Boat as a Program Representative
  • Direct experience in Submarine design & engineering, operations, or construction support experience
  • Experience in material procurement, vendor management, or purchasing
  • Previous experience or familiarity with import/export controls and international defense programs
