Role &Responsibilities:
  • Interviews clients to assess needs or problems; conducts home visits; develops case plans; and implements plans of assistance within agency policies and procedures and established guidelines. Requests, verifies and updates client information required to establish or re-establish eligibility, and maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation.
  • A STRMU Case Manager under HOPWA is responsible for determining client eligibility, processing short-term rent, mortgage, and utility assistance to prevent homelessness, and providing ongoing case management to support housing stability. This includes developing housing plans, maintaining accurate and compliant client documentation, and entering data into required systems.
  • The role also involves regular client follow-up, addressing barriers to stability, and coordinating with landlords, service providers, and internal teams.
  • Additionally, the case manager ensures adherence to HUD and HOPWA regulations, participates in monitoring activities, and implements corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
  • One (1) year work related experience - Proficient on personal computers using Microsoft Office 2010 or latest version
  • Must possess a valid TX driver's license, with a good driving record
Education:
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services in a related field of study.
