The Department of Social Work in the School of Arts and Sciences-Newark at Rutgers University-Newark seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track, calendar-year Assistant Professor of Professional Practice position to serve as the Director of Practicum Education. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, administering the practicum program and collaborating with practicum agencies and the human services community, interacting with other schools and programs of social work regarding regional and national field education standards and policies, overseeing the Council of Social Work Education (
CSWE) accreditation process as it relates to practicum education, providing leadership in the development and implementation of the practicum curriculum and practicum placement sites, providing educational seminars and trainings for agency supervisors, supervising faculty and staff in practicum education, teaching practicum related courses, and advising students.
The successful candidate will strongly identify with the purposes and values of the social work profession, understand social work education, and possess a broad knowledge of social work practice.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Applicants must have a
MSW from a
CSWE-accredited school of social work; a minimum of 5 years post-
MSW experience; a license in social work,
LSW or
LCSW in the jurisdiction in which they reside; a minimum of 3 years' experience as field instructor; and some college level teaching experience, relevant experience in a social work or educational setting.
