The Inventory Coordinator will manage the internal manufacturing marketplace and two-bin inventory system to ensure optimal availability of materials and components across product lines. This role serves as the critical link between product line leaders, procurement teams, and external distributors, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and effective utilization of inventory. The coordinator will adjust, control, and optimize the system to support lean manufacturing principles, reduce waste, and drive production efficiency.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


Marketplace Management
* Maintain and continuously improve the internal manufacturing marketplace layout and processes.
* Track marketplace usage patterns, shelf life, and flow of materials.
* Coordinate product introductions and retirements to align marketplace stock with evolving production needs.
* Ensure signage, labeling, and visual management tools are current and effective.

Two-Bin Inventory System Management
* Monitor and maintain the integrity of the two-bin system for fast-moving parts and components.
* Work with production and warehouse staff to ensure timely bin changes and replenishment triggers.
* Evaluate bin sizing and frequency of refill, adjusting based on consumption data and lead time.

Inventory Optimization
* Analyze usage trends, lead times, and minimum order quantities to fine-tune stock levels.
* Conduct regular cycle counts and root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies.
* Identify and eliminate obsolete or excess inventory in coordination with product and engineering teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination
* Serve as liaison between production teams, procurement, and external distributors to ensure timely material availability.
* Collaborate with distributors to adjust stocking agreements and delivery schedules.
* Work closely with supply chain and product managers to introduce new SKUs into the marketplace efficiently.

System & Data Management
* Use inventory and ERP systems to maintain accurate master data, including bin locations, reorder points, and part statuses.
* Generate reports and dashboards that provide visibility into marketplace health, shortages, and replenishment accuracy.

Continuous Improvement
* Lead or support kaizen events aimed at improving inventory accuracy, space utilization, and material flow.
* Implement best practices in lean inventory management, such as kanban and point-of-use stocking.


Qualifications

Education:/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment with inventory management responsibilities with a high school diploma / GED OR 4+ years experience with an Associate's Degree OR 0+ years experience with a Bachelor's Degree.

Abilities:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
