Role Summary: Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the AI Developer is a key member of the Information Systems team. The candidate in this role will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering small-scale, high-impact AI solutions that improve operational efficiency across the organization. This role focuses on execution of tightly scoped initiatives that are measurable, time-bound (60-90 days), and designed for repeatability. The AI Developer will work within a structured governance framework to ensure solutions are secure, controlled, and aligned with enterprise architecture, while contributing to the development of a scalable internal AI capability.
Exciting work you will do: The essential duties and responsibilities of the AI Developer will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled solutions to address defined business problems across Sales, Operations, Finance, and other functions
- Interpret business requirements and translate them into practical AI-driven workflows, automation, or decision-support tools
- Build and iterate prototypes to validate feasibility, usability, and business value
- Integrate AI solutions with existing systems (CRM, ERP, PIM, APIs, and data platforms)
- Ensure proper handling of enterprise, customer, and operational data in accordance with governance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement solutions that align with business needs and priorities
- Document all solutions, including architecture, deployment procedures, rollback processes, and replication guidance
- Monitor and improve performance, reliability, and usability of deployed solutions
- Research and recommend new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve efficiency and capability
- Support the development of reusable patterns and frameworks to enable scalability across the organization

What you'll need:
- Experience: Entry Level AI Developer; experience in software development, data engineering, automation, or a related technical field
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, related field or equivalent experience
- Analytics/Computer Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred); experience working with APIs and system integrations; working knowledge of SQL and data structures; familiarity with AI/ML tools, large language models (LLMs), or automation platforms; experience with version control systems (e.g., Git); proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel)
- Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well collaboratively with the entire organization; flexible with change of demands and priorities
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information in a manner that non-technical staff can understand

Skills we prefer but don't require:
- Experience: Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering techniques; familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel); experience building or integrating chatbots, copilots, or conversational interfaces; exposure to Microsoft ecosystem tools (Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365); experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate or similar platforms); experience in integrating with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, or PIM platforms; understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures; experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data (documents, PDFs, text, etc.); familiarity with vector databases or embedding-based search techniques; exposure to basic machine learning concepts (classification, regression, evaluation methods); experience deploying applications or services in cloud environments; knowledge of data governance, security, and responsible AI practices; experience with version control and collaborative development workflows (Git-based environments); familiarity with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python scripting, etc.); exposure to building internal tools, utilities, or process automation solutions; basic front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for lightweight interfaces; experience working in agile or iterative development environments; HTML, CSS, JavaScript
