Instructor - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation Fellow - Children's Wisconsin

The Department ofPediatrics, Division ofPediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantationat the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Division as a Bone Marrow Transplant Fellow. This one-year fellowship is designed to prepare physicians for academic careers in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. The program offers intensive clinical training and research opportunities under the mentorship of nationally recognized faculty. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

• Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Participate in multidisciplinary transplant rounds and conferences.

• Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with faculty across oncology, immunotherapy, infectious disease, and pathology.

• Clinical: Manage autologous and allogeneic transplant patients, including pre-transplant evaluation, conditioning regimens, post-transplant care, and management of complications such as GVHD and infections.

• Teaching: Educate residents and medical students through bedside teaching and didactic sessions.

• Research: Participate in clinical trials or initiate independent research projects with mentorship.

• Patient population: Pediatric patients with hematologic malignancies, hemoglobinopathies, bone marrow failure syndromes, and immunodeficiencies requiring stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy or gene therapy.

• Team Dynamic: Collaborative team of faculty, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers. Faculty/APP ratio ensures robust support and mentorship.

• Locations: Children's Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and affiliated outpatient clinics.

• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

• Full-time (1.0 FTE); July 1 - June 30 academic year.

• No independent call; fellows participate in supervised clinical coverage.

• Salaried (Exempt) position.

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

• Completion of a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship.

Children's Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Children's and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin - the Children's Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state, serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Children's Surgery Verification Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, 72-bed Level IV NICU, Level IV Epilepsy Center, and a 72-bed PICU. In 2021-2022, CW and CSG had six specialties ranked byUS News & World Report: cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; and pulmonology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 220,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 67,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 9,000 admissions.
