Position Summary

Under the direction of a PI at The Shapiro Family Laboratory of Viral Oncology and Aging Research, the Laboratory Assistant will support ongoing research projects involving primary human cells and molecular/biochemical assays. The selected candidate must be proficient in in vitro cell culture, RT PCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent staining, and FACS. Prior experience with mouse studies is highly desired.


Salary & Compensation

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques and procedures (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill to take stock of supplies and to determine the need for ordering to ensure continuous availability. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill to work cooperatively with supervisors and faculty in a variety of situations. (Required)
  • Willingness to work with mice and mouse samples. (Required)
  • Ability to accurately document experiments, maintain lab records, and manage data. (Required)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to review data and present findings at lab meetings. (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under PI direction in a research environment. (Required)
  • Prior experiences in in vitro experiments at an investigator site or academic medical center (Preferred)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree BS degree in cell/molecular biology or related sciences (Preferred)
