*Description*
The Principal Solution Architect provides guidance, road maps, principles, standards and best practices for application, infrastructure, and other IT domains. They must be focused on enabling business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. The Principal Architect has a holistic view of the organization's strategic and tactical needs, is experienced with the tenets of diverse application, technology, and business solution domains and is able to use this knowledge to create viable and cost-effective solutions. The primary role of the Principal Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology solutions are aligned with the organization's technology and governance strategies, policies and standards. The Principal Architect is able to work with diverse stakeholders, be they business, clinical, academic, or IT, and provide a collaborative environment for solution development and delivery. The Principal Architect is well versed with project management processes and tools. They are involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design, and implementation. ***Must have previous healthcare experience*** *Top Skills* 1. 10+ years' experience in either an IT Technical Architect or equivalent experience in a major domain area for applications, technology, and IT security. Crossover experience in several of these domains is desired. 2. 5 years+ experience with healthcare enterprise applications or technology solutions development preferred. - Deep understanding of application architecture patterns, including modular, service-oriented, and API-first designs. - Experience with enterprise integration patterns, messaging, and event-driven architectures. - Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and approaches (e.g., HL7, FHIR, APIs), particularly in environments integrating Epic and related clinical systems. 3. Demonstrated success leading highly complex, multi-domain initiatives aligned to enterprise strategy and organizational outcomes. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* 5 years+ experience with healthcare enterprise applications or technology solutions development preferred. LeanIX is used to capture and document solution designs, with the expectation that it will evolve into the primary system of record for architecture artifacts, so if someone is familair with that it would be helpful. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $95.00/hr.
