About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

  • Compliance & International Trade: Oversee customs brokerage, import/export compliance, and international regulations to ensure seamless border crossings.
  • Cost Control: Manage the inbound freight budget, identifying opportunities for cost avoidance and process efficiencies through consolidation and route optimization with ambition to be a worldwide benchmark in the automotive industry.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Warehouse operations to sync arrival schedules with labor capacity and inventory needs.

Technology Integration: Drive the adoption and optimization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and real-time visibility tools.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in automotive or complex manufacturing logistics, with progressive leadership responsibility across both planning and operations.
  • Proven track record leading multisite / multidiscipline logistics teams and delivering stepchange improvements in cost, OTD/OTP, and premium freight.
  • Deep expertise in inbound network design: routing, mode optimization, crossdock design, consolidation, and international flows (parcel, TL/LTL, air, ocean).
  • Handson experience with TMS (e.g., OTM), PFEP, and ERP (e.g., SAP), including configuration/implementation partnerships with systems teams.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen; ability to interpret complex data, build business cases, and convert insights into clear decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrated success driving crossfunctional programs with Material Planning, Manufacturing, Packaging, Procurement, Finance, and Service.
  • Experience launching or scaling manufacturing operations (new plants, programs, or major ramps) strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel between Rivian locations, suppliers, and logistics partners as needed.
