Residential Security Installation Technician (Entry Level - Training Provided) Overview This is a hands-on field role for individuals who show up on time, work hard, and are eager to learn. Candidates with experience working with their hands, interacting with customers, or working outdoors tend to be most successful. A strong attitude and reliability matter more than prior industry experience. What You'll Do You will receive training and be responsible for residential installations and service, including: * Install and program burglar alarms, CCTV systems (IP & analog), DVRs, and access control systems * Install window break sensors, door units, and smoke detectors * Troubleshoot signal issues to ensure systems function correctly * Interact directly with customers at their homes on a daily basis * Test and verify alarm signals and installed equipment * Train customers on equipment use and answer all questions * Ensure customers have no additional equipment needs * Complete required customer paperwork for each job * Track and cost all parts used before closing jobs with dispatch * Maintain accurate truck inventory of security products * Deliver top-quality customer service at all times * Achieve 90% goal attainment for completed installations with zero go-backs Skills * Security systems installation * Alarm installation * CCTV * Access control * Cabling / Cat6 * Electrical basics * Service and installation experience What We're Looking For * Extremely customerfocused with professional inhome presence * Strong communication skills and reliability * Adaptable, solutionoriented mindset * Ability to read customer cues and respond confidently * On-time, dependable, and professional every day Customers must feel confident their issue will be resolved - technicians are expected to communicate clearly and professionally at all times. Tools & Equipment (Technician Provided) * 6foot ladder (folding Little Giant recommended) * Screwdrivers (electric drill preferred) * Wire cutters * Hand sheetrock saw Tools may take time to build, but candidates must understand this expectation. Transportation & Travel * Personal vehicle required * Routes are typically kept within 1-2 zip codes of home * Mileage reimbursed only when traveling over 40 miles between jobs (rare) Schedule & Training * Tuesday through Saturday * Training typically lasts 4-5 weeks, depending on skill pickup and licensing * Some portions of training may take less time due to repeatable work Experience Level Open - candidates are selected based on attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn, not background. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
