This position will primarily assist in the operation, support, monitoring, and optimization of the network detection and response infrastructure used to identify threats and reduce risks on the IT and OT networks used to provide safe and reliable energy. This includes developing automations to support the operations and management of this infrastructure. This role combines knowledge of network management, network packet data aggregation, and Network Detection and Response (NDR) for the successful management and maintenance of security solutions, and the execution of innovative solutions. This role will partner closely with Network Infrastructure and Security Teams; this role ensures operational excellence that enables the business to achieve its goals and objectives that are aligned with the overall enterprise technology strategy and goals. 3-5 Years Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement. Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems. Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies. Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records. Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records. Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software. Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future. Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use. Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems. Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. This position will primarily assist in the operation, support, monitoring, and optimization of the Network Detection and Response (NDR) infrastructure used to identify threats and reduce risks on the IT and OT networks. This includes day to day system health monitoring, updates, and developing automations to support the operations and management of this infrastructure.There's also a capital project component of this role in supporting the lifecycle effort of the NDR devices. *Skills* git, github, linux, zeek, nist *Top Skills Details* git,github,linux *Additional Skills & Qualifications* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *Assist in the implementation, operation, support, and optimization of cybersecurity network packet capture and NDR sensor infrastructure. *Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, and reviewing system and application logs *Upgrade and maintain system updates based on vendor recommendations *Engineer, monitor, and maintain solutions to ensure the resiliency and sustainability of security infrastructure. *Independently troubleshoot new and unknown problems *Liaison and collaborate with detection engineering and other groups to ensure configurations support business requirements and verify accuracy of the data being provided. *Develop processes and procedures to continuously optimize security solutions *Support security research, assessments, presentations, and security industry collaboration. Minimum 1.Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of work experience in system operations and support. 2.Production experience supporting applications and collaborating with other groups 3.Working knowledge of computer networks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and system logging. 4.Experience with Python, Linux CLI, Unix shell scripting, REST APIs 5.The ability to evaluate and solve complex security problems and design efficient solutions using knowledge of security threats, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and exploits. 6.Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills quickly and share learnings with the rest of the team. 7.Valid state driver's license Preferred Qualifications *Experience supporting Zeek based NDR platforms *Experience supporting packet broker hardware *Experience with information security frameworks and compliance standards *Technical certification in cybersecurity *Technical understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities. *Experience with networking administration and Cisco CLI Commands *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
