Job Summary

The Lead Applications Business Analyst leads the management, configuration, and ongoing support of the Division of Finance & Administration's enterprise applications and reporting infrastructure. This includes administering the Division's Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server reporting environment, supporting business intelligence delivery across Power BI, Oracle BI, Tableau, and Excel, and serving as the primary liaison between Division stakeholders, central IT, and vendors. The position is responsible for building and maintaining a suite of Microsoft Power Apps tools for Division business operations, supporting budget, financial, reporting, and data-driven tools in PeopleSoft Financials, and implementing artificial intelligence solutions to improve operational efficiency in areas such as travel expense review. The Lead Applications Business Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with institutional objectives while advancing data-driven decision-making across the Division.

  • Serves as the functional lead and subject matter expert for the Division of Finance & Administration's enterprise applications, including PeopleSoft Financials, budgeting, reporting, and data-driven decision-support tools.
  • Manages and administers the Division's reporting server environment hosted on Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of the reporting infrastructure.
  • Supports the development and delivery of reports, dashboards, and analytics across Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel by ensuring data availability, integrity, and accessibility on the reporting server. Collaborates with the reporting team to troubleshoot data issues, optimize query performance, and maintain reliable data pipelines that support financial, budgetary, and operational reporting needs across the Division.
  • Designs, develops, and deploys a suite of Microsoft Power Apps solutions to streamline business operations across the Division, including workflows for procurement, facilities, human resources, and administrative services.
  • Supports and enhances budget, financial, reporting, and data driven tools within PeopleSoft Financials, including configuration, query development, troubleshooting, and end user support for modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Budget.
  • Leads the identification, evaluation, and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to improve Division operations, including but not limited to automated travel expense review, HR action processing, document classification, and anomaly detection in financial transactions.
  • Utilizes Microsoft SQL Server and enterprise data warehouse tools to query, analyze, and validate financial and operational data. Develops optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes to support dashboards, ad hoc reporting, analytics, and executive reporting needs across multiple BI platforms.
  • Ensures data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across integrated systems including PeopleSoft Financials, the reporting server, and BI platforms. Develops and maintains data governance standards, validation procedures, and reconciliation processes for financial and operational data.
  • Leads efforts to automate and streamline business processes using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), enterprise application features, and AI driven tools. Partners with stakeholders across the Division to assess workflow effectiveness and recommend technology enabled improvements.
  • Oversees end user support and prioritization of application service requests for Division reporting tools, Power Apps, PeopleSoft Financials, and AI solutions. Develops training materials, documentation, and job aids for technical and non technical audiences. Delivers training and knowledge sharing sessions on new and existing applications.
  • Leads projects and initiatives using established project management methodologies, including reporting server upgrades, Power Apps rollouts, AI implementations, and PeopleSoft enhancement projects. Provides regular status updates on projects, risks, and deliverables to management.
  • Acts as a liaison between Division business units, central IT, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of reporting, Power Apps, PeopleSoft, and AI driven application solutions.


Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS 2008/2012/2016, SQL Server 2012/2014/2016.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint farm and site collections administration, forms, workflow creation, and customization.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS
  • Experience with working in VMWare/Virtualized environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Productivity Suite.
  • Prior experience with enterprise applications support.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with working in academic and healthcare environment preferred.
