Primary Purpose of Position
This position will serve as the Assignments Coordinator for Administrative Services. The position coordinates all assignments for on-campus housing, including Residential Learning Communities. This position assigns approximately 6,300 students for the academic year and 300 for summer.
This position is responsible for receiving & processing over 7,000 applications for on-campus housing. This includes housing assignments for the academic year & summer sessions.

This position must maintain & update all records & rosters on a daily basis. They coordinate with nine Coordinators, thirteen graduate assistants & one hundred fifty Resident Assistants on a regular basis.
This person communicates with all coordinators, and students that are affected by room changes & the reapplication process. Room changes occur throughout the entire year & must be maintained daily.
This person must maintain & make assignments from waiting lists, update room changes on computer files, process all withdrawals, forfeitures, & other factors affecting the on-campus occupancy.
Billing is another area where accuracy is a must. They prepare billing, debit/ credit for housing charges, & forward billing information to the Student Accounts office. Check discrepancy reports & adjust student's accounts. Process all funds for the housing charges, according to University policies. The occupancy reports are completed on a monthly basis and are submitted by each of the twenty residence halls. They provide the Director & Associate Director with information required to complete housing reports. These reports are for on campus & UNC System.

This position maintains current administrative files; archive files on a regular basis. Maintain familiarly with the Housing License Contract and University Housing website. Files should include, but are not limited to, late arrivals, academically ineligible, amendments to applications, private room requests, debit/credit sheets, waiting list, room changes, withdrawals, and refunds.

Communication with others both inside and outside this office is required. They must have great communication skills & interact either in person, by phone or e-mail with students, parents and all university departments on a daily basis. This position works with a variety of technology and systems to complete job responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Functions
Reporting to the Associate Director of University Housing for Administrative Services duties will also include working directly with the other members of the Administrative Services Team who will oversee the assignments process for on-campus housing.
This includes over 6300 residents within 19 residence halls throughout campus including traditional, suite, apartment and hotel style housing. Work will include program coordination, customer service, event planning, report writing, summarizing and reconciling information or financial data, records and facilities management.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
This position requires knowledge of a housing management system, ability to work with a vast number of different groups including students, parents, housing staff, University personnel and to maintain a positive attitude during challenging times. The ability to multitask, but to stay focused on the details and responsibilities to complete each task. Attention to detail and to run reports to support decisions and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor's degree
Strong written skills as demonstrated in the application materials.
Experience and working knowledge of college housing
Experience working with Banner and other technology
Experience in customer service, specifically working with faculty, staff, parents, and students
