SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A Stockroom Clerk is responsible for the efficient management, organization, and handling of inventory within a stockroom. The role ensures that products are received, stored, and distributed accurately, supporting overall operational workflow.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Log received items into the inventory system.
  • Issue materials to internal departments accurately and promptly.
  • Organize and label items in designated storage locations.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits.
  • Enter inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments) into SAP.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points.
  • Generate inventory status and usage trend reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot WMS-SAP discrepancies; escalate unresolved issues.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and accuracy.
  • Prepare items for outbound shipments (packaging, labeling, documentation).
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers or internal logistics teams.
  • Keep warehouse/storeroom clean, safe, and organized.
  • Ensure bins, shelves, and aisles are clearly labeled and accessible.
  • Follow safety protocols and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions (electronic and paper).
  • Update bin locations, part numbers, and stock statuses in WMS-SAP.
  • File and organize packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documents.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for inventory tracking.
  • Physical ability to lift and move stock.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequent standing and walking in shop environment where machine coolant is present and may cause a slipping hazard. Standing and walking is not continuous as tool inspection requires frequent sitting to use magnification inspection equipment and data reporting terminals. Frequent use of hands and arms to make machine adjustments, load, unload and inspect parts. Able to visually read instructions, set up machine for individual custom operations, monitor and adjust machine controls during run cycle, read inspection equipment, use keyboard to enter data. Moderate lifting required changing wheels, move containers of tools. Indivdual grinding wheels may weigh up to 20 pounds.

General machine shop conditions in air-conditioned atmosphere. Work areas are clean and uncluttered but floors maybe slippery. Exposure to machine coolant on hands, arms and head while changing tools or performing set up of machine.
