As a Business Systems Analyst for our Bill Pay business, you will play a crucial role in analyzing biller lists for potential processing opportunities, and implementing those opportunities in our bill pay system; ensuring seamless delivery of payments to suppliers and billers via our automation and agent pay. This role requires a strong understanding of payment processes, data analysis, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications for stakeholders.

How you will make an impact:

Data Gathering & Documentation:

  • Perform biller research including accepted delivery method(s) and customer data required for successful posting on WEB/IVR systems.
  • Assess biller research findings for implementation viability within Bill Pay's existing payment platform capabilities.
  • Document biller research findings including payment process flows, use cases, and detailed payment requirements specific to each researched biller.

Ecosystem Maintenance:

  • Manage and update critical biller data within Salesforce.com.
  • Create and maintain various documentation, including, process diagrams (e.g., swimlane, activity diagrams), data flow diagrams, and user manuals.

System Analysis & Design:

  • Analyze existing Bill Pay systems and processes to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Propose innovative and practical solutions that align with business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Participate in the design of new system functionalities and enhancements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business concepts to technical teams effectively.
  • Facilitate productive discussions and drive consensus among diverse teams.

Testing Support:

  • Monitor and test "prospective billers" to ensure steady system flow and system integrity.

Issue Resolution & Support:

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to the Bill Pay platform, acting as a bridge between business users and technical support.
  • Analyze root causes of issues and propose preventative measures.

Advanced Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis and design of complex, cross-functional Bill Pay initiatives that involve multiple systems, integrations, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges in complex project implementations.

Process Optimization & Innovation:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the Bill Pay ecosystem, leveraging expertise in payment workflows and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap of the Bill Pay platform, advocating for innovative solutions that drive business value.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, derive insights, and support data-driven decision-making for Bill Pay initiatives.
  • Create detailed reports to regularly communicate findings to stakeholders.

Vendor & Third-Party Management (as applicable):

  • Work with external vendors and third-party partners involved in Bill Pay integrations, ensuring their solutions align with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Evaluate new technologies and vendor offerings to enhance the Bill Pay platform.

Experience you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a strong focus on financial services, payments, or similar transactional systems.
  • Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for complex software applications.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in creating process flows, use cases, and other analytical models.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Excel: Moderate skills are required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, filtering, sorting, and charting).
  • Research: Ability to use web tools/Google to conduct research and summarize findings for stakeholders.
  • Tools: Proficient in Gmail/G-Suite, Salesforce, and text editors like Notepad++.
  • Organization: Mastery of spreadsheet organization and data hygiene.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
