About This Role

The Department of Anatomy and Physiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a post-doctoral position in pharmacology. This position will provide an opportunity to contribute to the department research, teaching, and outreach missions while gaining experience in analytical techniques, study design and conduct, data analysis, grant writing, and successfully publishing research. Candidates should enjoy working individually and as a team in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary research environment

The successful candidate will be passionate about the areas of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology and have an interest in advancing the specialty of clinical pharmacology through research, teaching, and outreach. Duties will include design and conduct of clinical trials and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies. Teaching opportunities will include graduate and professional courses.


About Us

The Department of Anatomy and Physiology is multi-disciplinary with responsibilities in instruction, research, service and continuing education including the disciplines of gross and microscopic anatomy, cell and systems physiology, pharmacology, toxicology and neuroscience. Research strengths in the department include: electrophysiology, exercise physiology and heart failure, animal welfare and pain management, neuroscience, stem cell biology, toxicology, teaching methods, and veterinary clinical pharmacology.


Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • PhD in pharmacology. The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in liquid and gas chromatography as well as mass spectroscopy.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong written and oral communication skills in addition to experience with scientific research techniques in the lab and field.
  • Teaching experience in the field of pharmacology and/or physiology.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities in the areas of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
