Job Description

Responsible for supporting Smartsheet, the Smartsheet API and integrations between Smartsheet and other products such as ServiceNow. The position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, architecting, supporting, and monitoring integrations with other business applications and partners with HRIS and other functional and business stakeholders. The position serves as a subject matter expert on system security, data integrity, and technical integrations. Works with stakeholders to take business requirements and transform them into technical specifications for integration development. Responsible for working with the HRIS team, Ed Tech, and the Program Development OneMIS IT team on integration development, documentation, data security, and after-care integration support as well as custom reporting development and other projects.

Primary Responsibilities
Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and maintains new tools, integrations, and services between new or existing systems.
Supports and enhances the existing architecture and integrations with Smartsheet. This includes troubleshooting system issues, developing enhancements, recommending changes to integrations, identifying new technology capabilities, and supporting system updates.
Works with stakeholders to understand business goals and requirements then translate those into complete technical solutions.
Develops and documents requirements, scopes of work (SOW) and functional specifications, develops test scenarios, conducts acceptance testing, and implements solutions.
Supports business users through the integration development lifecycle.
Works with the OneMIS team to support releases and updates, including researching functionality, conducting testing, and communicating options for changes or enhancements, as applicable.
Develops and performs Impact(s) analysis for upgrades, enhancements, and new platform releases including team reviews and Go/No-Go launch activities.
Assists with broadening internal knowledge of Smartsheet.
Ensures compliance with technical best practices, standards, and policies.
Works closely with other team members to brainstorm, strategize, and complete ad hoc requests creatively, effectively, and efficiently.
Ensures the overall accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Program Development PPMIS data.
Ensures data is protected from unauthorized access and data corruption.
Develops controls and guardrails for the organization to take to ensure its system is safe from downtime, interreference, or malicious intrusion.
Demonstrates subject matter expertise within the group.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Deep knowledge of Smartsheet's integration technologies and implementation methodologies, including Data connections, Workflow automations, Content management, Process management, Governance and administration, Digital asset management, Resource management, Business apps, and Business Process Framework.
Proficient in writing efficient and maintainable scripts using Python for automation, data processing, and system integration tasks.
Demonstrated proficiency with Web Services, SOAP, XML, XSLT, REST, JSON, etc.
Database Administrator (DBA) Experience a plus but not required.
Strong understanding of Smartsheet user access and security.
Must be a detail-oriented thinker, exhibiting strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Team player that contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments.
Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
Work effectively in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, quick pivot, and rapid change environments.
Effective listening, written, and verbal communication skills.

Good understanding of Product Management/Development.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, automation, or platform development across multiple tools/environments
  • Experience working with enterprise or work management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Jira, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of APIs, data integration, and automation workflows (low-code/no-code and/or scripting)
  • Ability to design and maintain data structures, reporting, and scalable operational systems
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Smartsheet Certification (or deep hands-on experience given current-state dependency)
  • 3+ years of scripting experience (e.g., Python) for automation and integrations
  • Experience with ServiceNow (platform usage, integrations, or certification)
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience integrating across multiple platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Trello, Coda, Salesforce) within a single ecosystem
  • Strong track record of building scalable, low-maintenance systems with a focus on simplicity and sustainability (not over-engineering)

Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
