General Manager - Bill's Market (Convenience Store & Gas Station)
Job Summary Bill's Market is seeking a reliable, hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations during our morning shift (5:00 AM - 2:00 PM). This role is ideal for an early riser who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in setting the tone for the day-ensuring the store is fully prepared, stocked, and delivering excellent service to our morning customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day store operations during morning hours, including opening procedures
- Schedule, supervise, and support team members and assistant managers
- Recruit, hire, and train employees focused on delivering friendly, efficient service
- Ensure the store is clean, stocked, organized, and ready for peak morning traffic
- Oversee coffee, hot food, and breakfast service to maintain quality and availability
- Motivate and coach team members to meet performance expectations
- Monitor inventory levels, reduce shrink, and maintain accurate cash handling
- Track fuel pricing and stay competitive within the local market
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
- Enforce company policies, safety standards, and operating procedures
- Execute promotions, signage, and in-store marketing displays on time
- Complete daily reports, paperwork, and system entries accurately
- Conduct team and safety meetings as needed
- Step in as needed to perform cashier duties and support the team
What We're Looking For
- Availability to consistently work early morning shifts (5:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
- 3-5 years of retail or convenience store management experience
- Experience in grocery, hot food service, and inventory ordering
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
Preferred Qualifications
- College education (preferred but not required)
