Position Title: Kitter

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Marathon Equipment

Location: Vernon, AL

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Department: Operations

Shift: 1st shift

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for organizing kitting based on load schedules and for determining parts availability based on information in ERP system.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

Observes all safety regulations and reports any unsafe working conditions to Department Supervisor.

Reads work orders to determine kitting requirements and extensive use of ERP system to determine parts availability and follows Department Supervisor's direction to ascertain materials or parts to be moved with the use of forklifts.

Determine when parts are needed and communicate requirements to Fab department.

Monitor and update Excel-based load schedule with orders to be kitted and labeled.

Prioritize kits based on load schedules.

Maintain certification for forklift use or other certifications as required for specialized equipment (coordinate with supervisor and local HR resource).

Manually load and unload parts up to 40 pounds, and assist employees with loading and unloading parts above 40 pounds and above to and from their designated locations.

Performs preventative maintenance checks to all equipment prior to use, including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. Completes maintenance checklists as required and submit maintenance requests to Maintenance Department when necessary.

Identify materials and parts as required.

Support of production requirements as necessary may require overtime coordinated through supervisor or management.

Maintain work area and equipment clean and ordered.

Prepare production kits as required or assigned. Kits may include but not limited to raw material, parts, sub-assemblies, purchased parts or combinations of those or other parts/material as listed on bills of materials (BOM's) or special instructions provided by supervisor or management.

Perform any other task as required to support operations and customer satisfaction provided it can be performed safely and without special training requirements.

Requirements:

Knowledge: Requires knowledge and experience on different production lines for familiarity with different Marathon equipment models and the associated fabricated parts used on these models. Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, JD Edwards, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.

Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 30%, sitting approximately 50% and lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 20% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 10% of time.

Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.

Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.

Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Environmental: Exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
