Facilities Technician is needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client in Amityville, NY
Contract Duration: 12 months
Job Description:
This role will support three buildings for the client at the Amityville Campus, totaling over 286,000 Sq ft.
Responsible for:
- The maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
- Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
- Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Basic computer skills.
- Requires knowledge of applicable standards or regulations, and may require specific trade certifications.

- Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
- Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.
Nature of Supervision
- Works under limited supervision.
- Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.

- Must have good written and verbal communication skills; interacts directly with requestors within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.

Education & Experience
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications
- Be able to work on lifts and ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in extreme temperatures and high humidity conditions, either inside or outside the building, as necessary
- Working knowledge of a CMMS
- Electrician (Journeyman / Master)
- Specialized training (Plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
- Experience working in a manufacturing/office environment
- Good communication skills and teamwork
Employment Pre-requisites
